The only Dolby that I know of is a separate application, and not part of RealTek. I have a Lenovo Laptop with RealTek audio and Dolby, but the Dolby is a separate application. My desktop systems that I have all have RealTek audio but there is no Dolby.

Both of my desktop systems come with SoundBlaster Advanced Motherboard audio enhancements for the RealTek but it is a separate program, supplied with the Motherboard software and did not come from RealTek. Do you have Dolby software? The specs for the ASRock P55 Pro do not specifically state Dolby. It does say ' Premium Blu-ray audio support' whatever that is. I am using a nice set of stereo computer speakers and wondered if all I could ever get was stereo or if Dolby was possible. What I found was Dolby Home Theater or 'Dolby Virtual Speaker' which is supposed to provide the expanded sound quality of Dolby on 2 speaker systems. Then I found this (link below) which intrigued me. It uses uncertified drivers so I was trying to see if there was another way. Then I found this youtube video.

'PCEE needs to be installed' when trying to enable Dolby Home Theater I saw a few posts about enabling Dolby Home Theater within my Realtek driver. Downloaded the latest driver.

Upon refresh it lost my Dolby, so I also had to follow the instructions listed in the previously mentioned video, and the driver as well as the Dolby portion is part of my Realtek drivers downloaded from the support pages for my computer. I also get the same error PCEE needs to be installed. Thank you ahead of time for any help. EDIT: Found out problemI FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE VIDEO.

Used the setup program itself to remove the drivers that video instructed to manually uninstall from Device Manager. 2 Computer must be restart at this point, even if doesn't tell you to. Restarted setup program, it then installed the drivers again, and added back in the Dolby Surround Sound Program that was missing after 2 restarts initiated by the program, each time the program coming back up after the restart to finish extra stuff. (I think before I mistakenly cancelled out of it when it restarted thinking it was accidentally started.) While this is what worked for me for my computer, the people that have other computers that the dolby software is included should have similar solutions as long as you download the driver for that individual computer from the manufacturers website like I did. Worked OK up to trying to install the Dolby Home Theater software. I got the, 'PCEE needs to be installed' error when I [email protected]: maybe the ASRock P55 Pro does not support Dolby Home Theater at all in the first place and that's why the error message appears.

Try the and see if the folks will help you there. As fireberd said, if the board didn't specifically state that it did come with Dolby HT, you won't be able to use it. The Dolby Home Theater software supports a limited number of Realtek HD audio devices and the Realtek audio hardware on the ASRock P55 Pro doesn't seem to be on the 'supported' list for Dolby. The Xonar U7 device has its own drivers that allow use of the Dolby HTv4 software. It won't allow Dolby HTv4 to be used on the onboard Realtek audio device on the ASRock board though.

Or replace the ASRock motherboard with a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3, UD5 or UD7 board - those boards have Dolby HTv4 support though the Dolby HT program is bundled on the board's drivers & utilities CD and not on the Gigabyte support site for those boards. Honestly, ASRock boards never had any Dolby Home Theater support of any kind and never will. Similar help and support threads Thread Forum I recently received the new Alienware 18 with Windows 8.1. Sound & Audio Hi, so today i opened my laptop and it did a disk check after it was done i noticed that my Dolby home theater was uninstalled, so I went and downloaded it but whenever it tries to install it gives me a message saying that I need to install PCEE, I have no idea where I can install it from. Sound & Audio Hello I am on a Acer Aspire 5536-5255 currently looking for info on the Dolby Home Theater & ATI Radeon HD 3200 that are in the laptop, I was wondering where can I find the drviers or software for these 2 things? They seem installed on my laptop correctly, but I am looking to make sure. Hardware & Devices Our Sites Site Links About Us Find Us.

It is a software/driver combo. You can find it here: SOURCE: Quick guide: DOLBY.rar contents: Dolby PCEE Drivers x64.msi Dolby PCEE Drivers x86.msi Dolby Home Theater v4.msi Dolby Advanced Audio v2.msi Installation: 1. Uninstall Realtek HD Audio drivers or NVIDIA or ATI HD Audio drivers. NOTE: For Win 8/8.1, 3. Install 'Dolby PCEE Drivers x64.msi'.

During installation process, choose 'DHT(release)' for Home Theater v4. Install 'Dolby Home Theater v4.msi'. After restart go to Control Panel - Audio - Select Digital Output - properties - advanced properties - from the dropdown menu select Dolby Digital - apply/accept and close. Enjoy It will work with Win7 & Win8, currently not working on Windows 10.

Dolby Advanced Audio V2 IS NOT THE SAME as Dolby Home Theater V4. (The interface of DHTv4 will work with the Advanced Audio v2 driver and also with Dolby Home Theater driver) The Dolby.RAR content has inside 'Dolby PCEE Drivers x64.msi' which can install both DAA (Dolby Advanced Audio driver) and also DHT (Dolby Home Theater driver) -you should pick 'DHT (release)'. The main difference being Dolby Digital Output on DHT driver that is basically Dolby Digital Live, and of course if your source has 2.0 audio it will 'fake' 5.1 which is good isn't? Screen of Wolfenstein outputting real 5.1 digital through spdif. OK now got this to work using the 2.71 guide on page 1 (crackerjacks method at post 8) - although i am waiting for headphones to see if it actually outputs any sound. What i did was download the unsigned driver and copy over the dll onto the realtek 2.71 real driver and run the set up.

I have not had any unsigned driver messages though when i restart which i understand i should be getting. I dont know whether crackerjacks method is the alternative method or not - i simply downloaded bad's unsigned driver 2.71 and used the dll inside that (once it had been extracted) i understand that i should actually replace the original dll once the dolby live output has been enabled. So i understand that this does not work with windows 10. Unlocked Drivers: Download Realtek HD Audio Codec Driver and replace the relevant file with the file provided: Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 - 32 bit and 64 bit - R2.71 M1: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 - 32 bit and 64 bit - R2.73 M1: Windows Vista / 7 / 8 - 32 bit and 64 bit - R2.71 M1: Note for 64-bit Vista / 7 / 8 users: This is an unsigned driver, you must do one of the following for the driver to load: 1.

Press F8 before each boot and select 'Disable driver signature enforcement'. Test-sign the driver and enable Test-mode. Patch the kernel to permanently enable unsigned drivers. Alternatively, here is another modification that does not require breaking the driver signature, and instead modifies one of the user-mode DLLs, Unfortunately, usually Windows PUMA (Protected User Mode Audio) will check the digital signature of the user-mode DLL and will refuse to play ('Failed to play test tone'), even so, PUMA will only re-verify the DLL signature after a system restart. Because of that, and because Dolby Digital Live / DTS Interactive settings are used regardless of the DLL being loaded, you can still replace the DLL and go to Control Panel Sound, set the output format to Dolby Digital Live / DTS Interactive, and then switch back to the original DLL, the Dolby Digital Live / DTS Interactive output setting you have set will still be in effect, even after a reboot. Windows Vista / 7 / 8 - 32 bit and 64 bit - R2.71 A1 (Alternative method): If you have issues: Please Report: - OS (including whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit) - Motherboard - HD Audio Controller Hardware ID (You can find this in device manager, see image below) - HD Audio Codec Hardware ID (You can find this in device manager, see image below).

Anyone had any luck running this on Windows 10 insider preview? (build 10074 here) There appears to be an additional form of audio protection which causes the notorious 'Failed to play test tone' error when using DTS/DDL. Realtek control panel and Windows though will register the existence of DDL & DTS, the driver will function normally if used in any other modes. This will apply to using both the M1 and A1 methods for installing the drivers, as well as the awesome registry workaround which disables PUMA as stated by mkanet, and applies to all of the versions of the modded driver that we have available such as 2.71, 2.73 and 2.75. For the M1 method I have tried multiple things from test signing the driver to disabling DSE. I have used both hotswapping files in the installer and hotswapping in system32 for methods of applying M1.
